Become a Mentor
Every mentor is trained to give students caring, high-quality guidance, with the tools and skills to engage them. Through mentorship, we hope students complete the program, enter college, stick with their placements, serve and lead in their communities, and become mentors themselves. Our youth-oriented approach lets mentors take a personal stake in the young people they guide.

- 30–40 min interview, then up to 6 weeks of clearance
What You’ll Need
- Attend our events in person.
- Complete our mentor training session.
- Submit your information for a criminal background check.
How to Apply
- Fill out the online Mentor Application.
- We review it and contact you within 1–2 business days.
- If you’re eligible, we schedule a 30–40 minute in-person interview.
- We review your references, application and interview. If accepted, you’ll get an email to begin clearance, which takes up to 6 weeks.
Become a Volunteer
We offer a wide range of volunteer roles, long- or short-term, with flexible hours to fit your schedule. Our goal is to serve our community, strengthen the organization, and give every volunteer a rich, meaningful experience.

- After that first contact, we schedule an interview and email you the details beforehand.
Become a Guest Speaker
We welcome professionals from every field to share their experience with our students, who get an engaging space to meet, connect and trade points of view. Our monthly AASuccess Seminar Program is open to student members and outside guests, with topics like business, careers, writing, public speaking and banking.

What You’ll Need
- Sound public speaking skills.
- Willingness to engage students on a topic relevant to them.
- Roughly 1–2 hours in total, including preparing and communicating with the seminar organizer.
- Willingness to submit your information for a criminal background check.
How to Apply
- Fill out the online Guest Speaker Application.
- We review it and contact you within 1–2 business days. If you’re eligible, we schedule an in-person or phone interview.
- The seminar organizer then helps you prepare, including inviting guests, creating flyers and arranging IT support.
